RURAL VETERANS' SURVEY

Rural Veterans Needed
Research Study

The MISSION Act’s Impact on Rural Veteran Access to and Experience of Care: Views of Rural Veterans, non-VA and VA primary care clinics and community service organizations in rural areas (CARAVAN)

Why do you need me?

Volunteers are needed to participate in a research study seeking rural Veterans’ experiences in accessing and receiving VA and non-VA primary care.

Why is this important?

The VA is trying to improve rural Veterans’ access to better quality care. Your participation will help Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and the VA to better understand the health care experiences of rural Veterans. This study is VA funded, but all study visits and interviews are conducted and de-identified by OHSU staff.

What will I be asked to do?

Between now and September 2021, we are asking you to participate in one hour-long interview. This interview will be conducted remotely (by phone or video-conferencing). This is research and not treatment. Following interview completion, participants will be mailed a $50 gift card.

Eligibility:

Veteran status; reside in rural Oregon, Washington or Idaho; willing to participate, English speaking, and over 18.
